After the thrill is gone: Work

Self-portraiture is a constant in my work. Since I began to photograph, as a teenager, I directed the camera towards myself.

In the Haiku series –which was part of the Reconstruction group exhibition (2013) at the Luis Nishizawa gallery, the first exhibition in which I participated–, I was inspired by haikus in which I contemplated interior and exterior nature. The ex toto corde series captures the love break in an eternal embrace that becomes a moment to forget. A selection from this series was part of the exhibition this is the only reason we exist at the noox gallery, and in the exhibition La otra mirada at the XXX International Festival for Sexual Diversity (2017). In the same way, the series baby can you see through the tears?, made during the Contemporary Photography diploma at the Academy of San Carlos, confronts memory and feelings that show an atmosphere of youthful drama and the hope of expelling depression from my body.
